I made the mistake of
Opening ever app on my iPhone
carelessly falling in
swallowed like the cell signals
fueling this handheld object of
everyone’s affection
Now, lost, I can find
no way out
perhaps I have become an app
That can only be deleted
There was a time you could
Hear the clogs clicking
The gears whirling
The wheels turning
Running everything the
World was made of
With a spring or steam
Or gasoline
Needlessly
I remembered to
wind the Clock that
kept the time
We once lived by
