Veterans Day
VETERANS DAY
Our country, however described,
Is still our land, A Gift from God.
It to be defended by the able,
The land where Patriots trod.
Increasingly we express our love,
Especially those who have served.
This is our native land,
More that we deserve.
God made the country,
Man took control.
What wonder then we are in turmoil,
It tears my very soul.
Our home is a philosopher's dream,
He thinks he is in command.
But if he did not defend it in uniform,
He does not deserve this land.
He reads and contemplates the power,
The vast garden does bestow.
But he abuses its very foundation,
He just will never know.
It took our loyal ones in uniform,
To stand brave and tall.
To show those who would harm us,
They were headed for a fall.
Thank God for our military,
Remember those who gave their life.
Plus those who retired with honor,
We did our best and bore the strife.
One nation under God,
Let us not forget.
He still is the One in charge,
He hasn't left us yet.
