Notes About The Poem

If you served your country, be proud. If not, be appreciative

Veterans Day

Veterans Day
By Franklin Price
11/11/2019

It's time to celebrate the Vets
Of the good old U.S.A
All the living and the dead
We honor them today

All gave some and some gave all
To protect us and defend
We're saddened by the ones we lost
Who served us to the end

Let us not forget about
The ones who serve us now
They do it of their own free will
And take the solemn vow

No draft to fill, to commandeer
Each ones a volunteer
They live the military life
And hold their country dear

Let us salute them one and all
The Vets and those who serve
The way some of us act today
They're more than we deserve

Important truths flowing from these lines, Franklin. Here's to those who defend the homeland! Cheers, Gershon
