Venus
More beauteous than Helen of Troy!
More beauteous than all beauty queens!
More beauteous than the foggy eves:
More beauteous than the starry beams;
Was it thou angels Who beguiled?
With thy unearthly beauty sheen!
In far off, far off, far off well
From centuries hanging they unseen
Which name of Lord thou learned from Them?
By which magic them thee enthralled!
I read pages of Holy Book
Oh Beauty Queen I'm appalled!
While in the eve in yard I roam
And look at heavens as I stand
I gaze at starry world on high
I blink on earthly lamps on hand
I put in wonder hands on lips!
As Alice in some wonderland
Thou tease me out of mind oh Queen!
Thou shining glittering in the sky
All starry fays who serve thee there
And sing for thee a lullaby
Oh thou the shine of evening sky
Oh thou the morning starry beam
Oh radiant than the goddess moon
More radiant than all fairies seem
Thousands of years on lofty skies
Far off, far off from madding crowd
Oh come on earth come on for once
Oh come in misty cloudy shroud
Oh luckiest than those drowned on Earth
Oh luckiest than all killed in wars
More luckier than those smiling eyes
In world no one can know whose scars!
Wash fairies thy face with moon dust
And dry it with the heavens breeze
From tangled boughs of sky and earth
For thy bath water they squeeze
Which duty God to thee assigned?
Thou sitting midst of starry fays!
Thou serve the One the Gracious Lord?
Who rules on world all night and day?
In Day thou worship Lord of world
Thou lit at night the angels way
Oh harken me oh Beauteous lass!
A message I've sent to you
Oh read the verse of Holy Book
My Holy Book, it's chapter two
Read scented scented every verse
More keenly read one hundred two
Oh bid the orders of Thy Lord
Without Him everyone in loss
