Venom

Venom of the serpentines
Runs in one’s fleshly blood streams

Deficiency of the spleen
Or blame all on a bad dream

Poisons do twist the mind’s seams
Illusions of children’s dreams

Images always of schemes
Listen to the children’s dreams

Skip a rope, soap a poor dope
Morality runs down slope

How long must human hearts cope
On the world’s slippery slope

Don’t upset the apple cart
So say they are all for it

Stand they all say for something
While all fall for anything

Plead I take up your own reigns/reins
The venom run in one’s veins!
                                          Selah!

Very insightful, John. Especially like the lines about standing for something or falling "for anything." Also can relate to how each heart has to learn to cope on the world's "slippery slope." Venum does run through our veins at times and only love can eliminate it. Love, Carolyn

So true, John. It's been there since the begining. It's the taming of it that we struggle with. Good advice for all to follow..stand for something or you will fall for something..sooner or later we will all have to choose..better to do it down as no one's guaranteed the next hour. Awesome write, dear John! Hope your weekend's going well! God bless. Love, Annalise
