Vanity
vanity seeks an echo
but the music is distorted
because the canvas is contorted
and so it does remain, until we let go
it is a wish we now wish we did not wish
for if narrow ego agendas are tabled
it is unlikely we will be enabled
tasting a bittersweet dish
