Values
Living in a world that lost meaning
Where being righteous is demeaning
Where the truth is shut out, never to be heard
Where lies are in all our spoken words
Living, are we really?
Can we speak our minds freely?
Can we embrace the good in human nature?
Why must we live with hollow titles and fake forms of stature?
Loyalty, was betrayed by his best friend
Friendship, is no longer in style or trend
Faith's roots were ripped from the earth
Innocence now, is lost instantly at birth
Betrayal has become a common fate
So is having a friend that you hate
Blasphemy is everyone's belief
Corruption became the road to success, not failure nor grief
We've become soulless beings pointlessly roaming the land
Selfish and vain, believing we're meant for something grand
But losing values only brought darker days
Darkness enveloping the world as it decays
My only haven, is singing blues
It is my escape, from a world with no values
