Valentine's Day

To the love I left behind
You’re image always on my mind
The cool summer breeze rustling your hair
The gentleness in your eyes telling me how much you care
These all locked in my heart you see
And keeps me going in this God forsaken country
I did not want to be here
Yet the choice was not mine that was made clear
Each day I hope and pray
I will make it through another day
I want so much to be back there with you
To celebrate the holidays and start the year
Maybe my dream will come true
And I’ll be there for Valentine’s Day with you
