Vale of Tears

She walks along an avenue
some call the Vale of Tears.

Her agonies and sorrows brew
in eyes that vail her tears.

She whiles alone, her gaze unmet,
behind a veil of tears.

But can she flee from sadness, yet
with no avail of tears?

In time, the Rue of No Regrets
will countervail her tears.

Vale: valley
Vail: let sink
Veil: something that conceals
Avail of: use to one’s advantage
Countervail: offset, counteract

Terry; This is really good. Great rhyme. Terry, you didn't read the whole poem Of A Man Stood. You only read part of it. I was trying to rewrite it. My computer messd up. I just put it back. I still had to write a lot more. Sorry. Maybe tomorrow I'll have part III. Lucilla

Dear Terry - I hope I'm not being presumptious in appreciating this poem on a highly personal level. If I'm not, thank you, from my boulevard of broken dreams. (glad you didn't use that one). If I am totally self-centered in my little mind, I love it anyway. I think you've hit the mark, my friend. Terry - you make my heart sing! love, Kathy

I love the word play with the different spellings in alternate lines and the way you tied them altogether. Excellent.
