Us and Them

We are us,
They are them,
A complex mixture,
Of women and men,

We want peace,
They want war,
They don't abide by any law
No matter how much we implore,

It is clear
They do not want to hear,
What we have to say
They do not understand,

Things don't always go as planned,
We did not want this unrest,
Peace is what we like the best.
We have put on a brave face.

And keeping up with the pace,
With foes.
Who keeps us on our toes.
As we soldier on,

With spirit so strong.
Keeping faith that we will see
Our victory
Before too long.

Us United Them disquieted.

You have inspired me to write my own poem about being united.

Agreed. Agreed. Agreed. Agreed. You have written the objective truth... Now, in this, our age of total relativism, where all lies are accepted at face value -- including the nasty lies of BLM and Antifa -- read your poem from the Russian-Putin point of view, and they'll be saying the same thing I did: Agreed. Agreed. Agreed. Agreed. It's the tragedy of the times when Lies are accepted as Truth, and Truth is scorned as Lies. Write on, please! :) gw

As women give birth, they have a better understanding of how precious life can be than men can comprehend, so it was a real tragedy when religion switched from matriarchal to an absurd patriarchal system! Aloha!
