Unzipped Lips

As I was busy “being” just who I am, I didn’t care what others were seeing. To be as they wish, would be a sham and I will not be part of a scam. People are really the sum of everything that has touched their lives. When others take issue with what you’ve become, don’t expect to receive high fives. If you stay true, your uniqueness survives. No one can tell you what to feel, when to laugh or how to pray. The very act of being real will find you rising above the fray, dispelling regrets each day. For if you submit to playing a role that doesn’t fit your personality, you’ll dig yourself deep into a hole. Don’t succumb to others’ mentality; maintain your individuality.

Hooray for you....so many people go through life, trying to be someone else, someone who they think they "should be" or could be or think who people expect them to be! Finding one's true self, is something to cherish. A wonderful message in your poem, Carolyn! Congratulations!

Yes, very true words indeed, my friend. If we're not ourselves, how can anyone truly know us, or love us?

"No one can tell you what to feel, when to laugh or when to pray." This line as well as the last are insightful words to live by. I see many of the celebrities with their plastic extremities and botox brutalities :) Puffy lips that look like shipwreck or swollen corvette fronts, who over-use the heck outta this phrase. " I am being Real" - they claim! Yeah right.....You tell about the good side, the honest side of REAL! Carloyn! y rate and fave of mine!

Empowering thoughts, Carolyn! I really liked the message you give here-- sometimes I guess we get too absorbed and stressed over what other people that we forget just being ourselves! Wonderful way to highlight the meaning of this word! & thanks for dropping by, I hope all is better with your health? hugs
