Unwelcoming Home

Passerbies wonder what's wrong
What are you looking at?
While I'm fixated on the shadow at my feet
I'm just walking the edges of my thoughts
That cut in silence and make me bleed
No one hears the loud heartbeat
That's giving an ache to my head
Everything is happening beneath skin
Afraid to touch anything with my fingertips
Terrified of letting anyone near these wounds
The pain is an imaginary friend
Hidden, tucked away under a pillow
Spoken to only when alone
Oh, what an unwelcoming home

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
