Unwanted Goal
My emotions are in turmoil
Thoughts run rampant through my head
Sleep is my refuge from the pain
So very tired of all this dread.
Sadness, loneliness, pain and fear
These are my constant companions
What happened to all your promises
Seems they vanished into oblivion.
Happiness does show its face
Though short lived when it appears
Darkness somehow overshadows
Bringing a stream of unending tears.
Love is not meant to feel this way
Or people would shun this emotion
The key must be in the right person
One who will give you all their devotion.
But how do you stop loving someone
Buried so deeply into your soul
The answer does elude me
To survive I must make this my goal.
