Untitled For Now

You can't even admit that you love me
And yet you beg me to stay
Pleading with me not to leave you
To stay with you come what may

You pretend we are only best friends
Though we are so much more than that
You pretend I am your platonic companion
Ignoring that our love is a fact

My love why do you do this to me
Treat me with such casual disdain
Telling me you are thinking of marrying
Giving someone else your name

You seem to have not problem hurting me
Making me feel less than I am
Who are you trying to fool anyway
Any marriage you enter will be a sham

Just stop lying to yourself you love me
And I love you more than words
Don't mention anymore lady friends
The very idea of it is absurd

Sometimes I am truly sorry
That I cannot make myself say goodbye
It seems I will be with you always
Although I sometimes wonder why

I watched J Edgar a few days ago and have been obsessing over it ever since. Apparently there is a fierce debate over whether or not he and Clyde were actually lovers. I don't want to get into this debate, this poem is based on the movie, not if they were lovers in reality. Mostly I based this poem off of this scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2hZ7l3eWOI#t The first couple of minutes is cut off which sucks. I will never understand why people upload half a scene or most of a scene. But in the beginning of the scene Edgar tells Clyde that he "cares so very much" for him, and Clyde says he loves Edgar. Then Edgar brings up marrying some actress.

I'm still working on a title, but wanted to go ahead and share this.

I enjoyed reading this one. It's a good poem. Perhaps you could call this one "Love Speaks Louder Than Words" or "Why Don't You Love Me?"
