Untitled

Whether you’re a heaven-bound sinner
or a hell-raising saint

Whether you know who you are
or only know who you ain’t

To the four-fingered heroes
or the five-fingered thieves

To the wife that groans
or the widow that grieves

If you look at your life
with no self-driven fault

Or desire the past
like a pillar of salt

Maybe it’s God
or maybe it’s booze

Just be sure you can live
with the life that you choose

Lay it all out
let it be seen

Let it be more
than another bitter and broken-down dream
