I believe the varient is still based in observation so Dave what you have written would not be either a haiku or an american sentence [no idea what you mean by Canadian variant?] The word 'Twas would not be used for sure its an 18th or early 19th century word for It was - the ' replaces the missing letter & limbo is not an objective reality so it would not be used either.
