Until this world is through

If I were to die today
I know they’ll be sadness and tears
But, I'm the reason you were born
So be thankful for all my years

If I were to die today
Please smile, and celebrate my life
For the greatest gift I was given
Was being a mother, a nan and a wife

If I were to die today
Life will go on, we all know
So don’t be afraid to laugh and smile
Don’t be afraid to let go

The purpose for my time on earth
To me, has always been clear
For Bree, Paulie, Brooke, George & Sydnie
Is the sole reason why I was here

If I were to die today
Please don’t cry and be sad
Remember the love, kisses and hugs
And treasure the fun we all had

To smile doesn’t mean you’ve forgotten
To laugh doesn’t mean you don’t care
It means you remember the happiness
And the love that forever we’ll share

So don't look for me in sorrow
Don't search for me in pain
Look for me in every sunrise
In the laughter and the rain

Lift your head and face tomorrow
Carry all the love we've known
Every smile and every memory
Is a seed that I have sown...

My love for you is endless
With you...forever it will stay
Until this world through...
Untill the stars all burn away..

So if I were to die today
I know you will all feel me near
I never left you completely
Remember...for you, I will always be here..

A poignant and sobering piece Raina, but very well penned with nice rhyme and flow too. I see you've been off PS for a while, good to meet a fellow Brit as I'm north of the border. Take care and keep safe, Gordon

Hi Gordon, thank you so much for your lovely comment, it means a lot :). I haven't written for a while, but I hope to get back into it now. And yes, always good to meet a fellow Brit - I'm from south of the border :). Be safe and thanks again, Raina x
