Unsighted

I knew you loved me
because you never told me
I lacked charm, was dense
devoid of common sense.

But others did.

I knew you loved me
because you never told me
I was socially inept, ill kept
and out of step.

But others did.

I knew you loved me
because you never told me
I had no taste for fashion
was minus wit and passion.

But others did.

I knew you loved me
because you never told me
I didn't stand up straight
was unreliable and late.

But others did.

I knew you loved me
because you showed me
the adage is true and signed--
love is blind.
