Unset Porcelain
Unset Porcelain
You knew of my porcelain fragility
Chipped and marred quite recently
Though yet unset, my hope to be,
Repaired.
Inching steps, you said try yards
I am here! Relieve your guards,
My back was safe you sounded clear
The lioness artillery’s here
Promise.
I breathed my breath beneath your wing
No song of mine seemed worth to sing,
Much gifted mortar, I spread it free
Reflected on reciprocity,
Hopeful.
Then slammed with such common disregard
Hard force to break a brick, so hard,
Shattered senseless and alone
My sentry’s gone, I sent them home.
Bereft.
