Unseen Power

This stream
runs over rocks, sand and soil
small lives are lived out
   in it's running water
Only a moment ago
            we were in the
  heart of the asphalt homeland
Now we see the full moon
          over the treetops
          Watch falling stars as
  they burn in the night
   Good, rich earth below
    our feet
Keeps us in touch with the
       natural world
As winds softly blow from the
  east
         We contemplate each leaf
each small creature
We've become a part of
  the scene
And now we know that life
flows through us, with us, without us
