Unrestrained Anger

Sometimes, love is no match for unrestrained anger:
normal boundaries get stretched to breaking.
                          Rage takes control,
                            and dominates.

Your teeth bared down, locked in a menacing grimace:
as your pulse races, and muscles quiver.
It happens quickly, there's no time to think:
instantaneously; reflex instincts engage.

When your friends try to placate you,
why do you rebuff all attempts?
                         And lose your cool,
                           as though insane.
