Unquenchable Desire
Unquenchable Desire [Prayer]
“4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word
that comes from the mouth of God.’” Matt 4:4 NKJV
Lord, give me an Unquenchable Desire
To spend time in your word.
Make your words sweeter than honey;
More powerful than any sword.
Enable me to abide in your word;
Make me your true disciple;
Help me to adhere to your teachings;
Accept every true principle.
Give me an intimate knowledge
Of your truth to set me free.
May your words be my daily food;
Complete comprehension to see.
May I treasure your words
And bury them in my heart.
Give me that Unquenchable Desire—
Your great love to impart.
As a disciple of the Messiah,
May I live according to your word;
Seek to tell others
Of this great hope you afford.
May I not sin against you,
But even if I should,
I ask your forgiveness—
Let your peace be restored.
Give me an Unquenchable Desire
To seek your promises daily;
To completely trust your words—
Drink them up readily.
This desire is supernatural;
A desire only you can provide.
May your words be my ‘manna’,
Until in heaven I reside.
