Unmasking the Hidden Struggle

Beneath the mask, where scars reside, A hero's facade, in shadows, I hide. Head held high, though helpless I feel, Smiling to conceal the wounds that are real. I say "I'm okay" to dodge the queries, Flooded questions, drowning worries. Strength portrayed, yet breaking unseen, A wall built high, suffering between. Pain digs deep, soul bleeding sore, Reaching flesh and bones, to the core. Detachment shields, eases the strife, A lie of hope for a better life. Pieces broken, bricks conceal, Hoping hearts see, emotions reveal. Will this fragile fortress crumble at last, Or shall I silently fade, a forgotten cast? Sobbing sorrows, tears that weep, In solitude, secrets buried deep. In a world of uncertainty, a plea, Is there a place for someone like me? No island, suffocating in my own land, Seeking refuge, a gentle hand. For in the echoes of silence, I stand, Hoping to breathe in a compassionate strand.
