Unknown By a Crying Soul

Little fingers, little toes Little tiny button nose Your body and mine will never touch Upon this earth I miss you much I’ll never smell your little head I’ll never tuck you in your bed I’ll never nurse you at my breast Never dress you in your Sunday best You’ll never see the light of day You’ll never walk or run or play To hold you now is my true wish To press our lips into a kiss To gaze into each other’s eyes What color they are remain a surprise First day of school will never be You’ll never get to climb a tree No first job and no first pay No kiss, no date, no wedding day All of this you’ve been denied I can’t go back oh how I’ve tried Little baby that I never knew My heart stays broken longing for you
