Universal Greed

Universal greed is a disease
That wants too much of everything
With never enough to please
Gimme, Gimme, Gimme
Then give me more
What do we need
Useless possessions for
Greed is like a virus
A virus that has spread
Taking over the world
Bringing chaos and dread
Help is badly needed
To rid us of this sin
Who will assist us
To curb this state we're in
Could another virus
Invisible to the eye
Notice this greed pandemic
As it was passing by
And decided then and there
Its' viral army
Would show the world how to care
This virus would cause everyone to realise
That everything they needed
Was right before their eyes
If they could conquer greed
And show each other care
The virus would concede
And disappear into thin air

David Smith April 27, 2020 at 5:43 PM And where greed goes corruption follows. Poetry may be best tool we have to fight this virus, so keep posting. You are not alone in this fight. We also have to educate those who are feeding greed to their children and leading by example with corrupt practices. Your presentation of your message was done in flawless style. To think that an invisible virus is capable of eradicating all the people in the world out of necessity because of dissatisfaction everywhere. Makes a nonsense out of the Power of Humanity
