Unintended Innuendo
“as we passed her she did wilt
which caused in us sense of guilt
since our stance perhaps did cause
to put her heart’s joy on pause
though we’re gentle, not hostile
we diminished her soul’s smile
since our aura as she viewed
scent of love did not exude”
The joy of fervent freedom suffused her sky,
let the enraptured heart’s lured songbird soar high,
gliding in the spring-rippled amorous air
that carried her fleeting jasmine fragrant flair.
No one could sing the song of yearning,
for the splitting thunder storm of strife surged in
from her illusive horizon receding to obscurity,
the wrench of desertion crushing her ecstasy.
The crippled bird folded the collapsed wings curled,
like the withered summer flower painfully furled.
Her mangled mind endured the pangs of isolation
in the ruined nest made of twig called emotion.
The wilted petals were dislodged from the floral fold
by the turbulent snow storm of desertion cold.
The fragmented flower found the dreams in debris,
in the rustle of livid leaves its moan subsided weary.
What in the end unintended innuendo made of her,
an impaled bird lost in deep blue blur,
failing to fly beguiled in our far away sky,
the pain of broken heart turning into wounded sigh.
