Uninspired

Uninspired, yet I sit and write
Wondering what to say
I pour my heart into my words
And think of yesterday

Birds chirping, gentle breeze
Feeling calm, soul at ease
Free to do as I please

Peace Acquired
Uninspired

Sometimes I am most inspired to write because of emotions like anger or pain...that is why this poem rings true to me--when at "peace" and at "rest" I don't often have the drive, or inspiration. But, I would rather be at "peace" and "free" than inspired. I wonder if one can have both peace and inspiration? Thoughtful poem.

Exactly my thoughts as well. My best poetry comes from strong emotions, but it's not a state I always want to be in. Thanks for stopping by :)
