Unfortunate Son

I know I've hurt some people
Too many ways for me to tell
They send me tears and letters
I never meant to be in this hell

I walk a long and lonesome road
There's a million pounds on my back
I should've been successful and happy
But I ended up losing sight of the track

To my mother, I lied because I needed it
To my father, I never meant to be this way
To my siblings, I never meant to let you down
I only tried to live life and get by each day

It was all too good to be true
I always thought it would last
I guess I got what I deserved
I just wish it didn't go by so fast

I know I've hurt some people
Too many ways for me to tell
They send me tears and letters
I never meant to be in this hell
