Unfold Me

Unfold me at last
Expose some hidden depths
Stumble through my rocky past
Seek out those missing clues
Can you join up the dots
Are there pictures to see
Sometimes I wonder
Is there one real me

Confusion has rested
Its feet on my bed
I try to look back
What sense have I said
Many are the moments
I've passed out in mid thought
Why is the sleep tense
What dreams have I bought

Turmoil is no oil
It grates and it grinds
I try to reject it
It's fire burns out minds
Certain of failures
More oft than success
Please look into all this
Can you help to redress

Friends now I need you
More than ever before
Crumbling nightmares
Make me so unsure
I wake and I flounder
Was that real or untrue
Its four in the morning
Now my fingers are blue
From gripping the linen
Too tight as I squirmed
Why am I here still
What have I learned
