Unexpected Journey 'Pardon Me Sir'

A request for a piece On my feelings for you The love that we share And the journey we've been through Anticipating perfection Expecting gold from my pen But instead growing frustrated Waiting for material to pour in In other words, I drew a blank I mean, How do I feel? It wasn't uncertainty that was plaguing my mind For I know that I love you But the depth is undefined How may I convey with words These feelings inside Without mushy cliches Or old cheesy lines. However for you I'll give it a try So without further adieu For the love of mine Pardon me, sir Might your mind be dense Are you blind to see My walls of defense My prison of protection Preventing more hurt Yet you seem to have slipped in With a cookie and few words Pardon me, sir You must be confused There's no vacancy for romance Only intentions for abuse Here still you stay Unswayed by remarks Determined and stubborn To soften my heart Offering no false pretense And wearing no mask Figuring you'd turn away Once learning of my past. Yet every conflict you combated Every hardship you endured No matter what went at you You came back for more Defeating darkness for my sake Becoming my angel of war Wearing down the numbness That burdened my core Formed through friendship Then driven by lust Molded through honesty And guided with trust You entered my world Threw me off guard Before even realizing it I fell for you, hard. Now here, time past And feelings of mine change Once doubting, now confident That you made your choice to stay Now one more thing left to say Before I let this finally end Something else about this piece That I feel you should comprehend The change of pace is undesired But it represents my love for you Unexpected, Unpredictable But always holding true Managing to fall in line Becoming one masterpiece A perfect fit, you and I And may it never cease So maybe it's not gold Or worth an honorable mention But still, I hope you like it Even if failing to meet perfection Perhaps there'll be a day When I'll write one much better After all, we have eternity To write this story together
