Unending Firsts

You think the time we met
was when we locked eyes
But our souls knew each other
repeating lifetimes
An unspoken language
that needed no words
An automatic magnet
pulling us close
Why would two beings
fight, temp the fates
When we were destined
together, forever
an unending first
