Unemployed Vacation

People have been ignored,
Time has been wasted,
Employers know they've got the upper hand,
Like ice cream, they taste it.

So many online applications,
Include personality tests of variations,
This will take 40-60 min to complete
How many personalities can compete,
You can not agree, agree less, agree somewhat,
Agree more, agree a lot, what the ****?

They lie and cheat to get you in the door,
A week later, your fired, your now a job whore
Don't call us, don't come in, don't email,
Our communication and management is frail,

Finally got the job,
It's battle for time they rob,
They give eight hours a week,
Cant pay bills on that check,
Or fifty hours a week,
You're a walking train wreck.
That's if it lasts longer than a week,
If not, it's another job you'll have to seek.

Unemployed Life is sure a vacation,
Takes no time sweeping the nation.
Take it lightly,
It's how you'll get through,
All the stupid bull*****they pull

Great writing. Like with some of the other writers I've gone back to the beginning ot see your first posted poems. This is the first one listed. Nice work on pointing out a serious issue with the job market today.

Unfortunate but true... but I guess that's the system we've accepted (forced to accept?)... Nice poem... Terry

Hard to get one job, but it takes three to eat, eh? Listen! Money is not happiness - a man with 9 million is no happier than a man with 8 million. Congrats on the selection. daver

This reminds me of some of the lighter stuff I use to write, and it literally made me chuckle! I love it, thank you so much for sharing it. I was having a "case of the Mondays" at work...this made my MONDAY feel more like a FRIDAY (a Pay Day Friday even). . . (:
