Understanding Help

Dear Father in Heaven
I Guess You Knew I'd Be Back
Of Course It's Been a While
But You Do Know All the Facts

And You Know I'm in Trouble
Or You Wouldn't Be Hearing from Me
The Thing That Has Me Puzzled,
Is Why Can't I Just "Be"

What Is it I Need to Do
That Will Give Me Peace of Mind?
And Why Can't I Understand?
Is the Answer So Hard to Find?

Please Give Me Some Understanding
About What I Am Doing Here.
Then Maybe I Can Learn to Cope
With Things That Cause Me Fear

Fear Is Only Fear at Best
That I Do Understand
But Somehow I've Lost My Control
And I Need a Helping Hand

So I'll Thank You, Lord, in Advance,
Because I Know Deep down in My Heart
You I Can Always Count on
And You Won't Let Me Fall Apart
