Undernourished Flower
Undernourished Flower
Like a summer rain,
You came to me.
Soothing and warm,
Refreshingly free.
Like an undernourished flower,
I soaked you up.
Quickly drinking,
From your watering cup.
But fall soon came,
And the cold winds blew.
And by a December day,
Our lives were through.
I hibernated,
In the ground below.
Underneath,
The mounting snow.
And waited for,
The First of May
To place my fears,
Far away.
I raised my head,
Above the ground.
And grew and bloomed,
Strong and sound.
I flourish in,
This new found place,
And placed a smile,
Upon my face.
