Underneath the Stars

Underneath the stars we forget who we are
We lie so deep in the rich grass that consumes us
Our bodies becoming one with nature's carpet
Watching the stars above
We are overcome with love

Distances between us
I on one patch of grass
You, distantly at another
Watching it in our separate places
It's how we stay close to each other

A full moon rises the water in our bodies
A tear couldn't possibly fall
In this moment I am one with nature
Yet forever I am one with you
