Underneath Mine
Dark alleys, pent-up lies,
a light so bright it burns inside.
Realized my eyes can no longer
disguise
what person resides, underneath mine.
Underneath mine, are hollow passage ways
unless you're me, you don't want to take
and unless you're me you might break.
Because holding yourself up is what it takes.
Watch out for snakes,
watch out for hate.
Watch out for pitfalls
and war calls,
bones beneath your feet will break.
Underneath mine,
is nothing at all.
You fall and you fall
and continue to fall.
A bright light burns like sage
and burns this whole place
God comes to see us, the light burns our face.
Underneath mine, are we among the saved?
A bright light scorches a canvass I've drawn,
erasing my patterns
where have my scribbles gone?
I follow this path blind,
as it collapses behind.
Decaying matter, falls and shatters
at the end a light still shines.
Underneath mine.
