Underneath a Canopy of Trees
Underneath a canopy of trees.
Lays a world for all to see.
Where rainbows are precious and the stars a gift.
The rivers and lakes are our friends that drift.
We look up through the branches and rough.
Just to taste a drop of peace through a life that's tough.
A moonlit field that spreads over our sight
leaves visions of beauty that in the dark are still bright.. .
will we ever see past the night to the morning light?
Accepting our faults as we hang on.
Challenging our knowledge and reaching for our dreams.
Underneath a canopy of trees..
The leaves fall and scratch across my face,
taken memories always but never leaving a trace..
My eyes never closed always allowing me to see,
so safe and warm underneath the canopy of trees....
