Undercurrent of Melancholy

sudden tears erode the beach in his eyes.
swift vortex,  of addiction
                     and shame,        grave undertow.

eyes and taut lips, precariously lift
illusory light,                but truth
hails                 ebon of a shark.

necessary aloneness harbors pain,
sailing               on and on,            anchor
never drops,     digs in deep.
