Under the Waterfall

Standing atop
A bluff so tall
Water cascades
Right down the waterfall,
A pool of blue
With turquoise hues,
Luscious greenery surrounds,
Taking in the sound.

Leaves sway in a gentle breeze,
Vines hang from the tress,
Leaves crunching beneath my feet.
Walking along the river bank,
Noticing trees long since sank,
The current flows,
A soft wind blows.

I smell rainwater and decaying wood,
I ponder staying here,
I wish I could.
