Under the Tree, I Buried Them
I buried my pet birds
under the tall tree,
they'll get warmth, from the sun
be able to listen to the birds and bees.
They both loved the sunshine
coming in from the window,
chirped, when other birds chirped
flying high, flying low.
They're in a better place now
together in death, as they were in life,
I buried my pet birds today
how can I cope with the strife?
I'll find a way to get through it
but, will miss them in every way,
the way they used to greet me
by chirping and playing every day.
