Under the Red Umbrella
The rain slips down, and falls
Next to my feet, little splashes heard by all…
Under the red umbrella, standing, not alone
On the sidewalk… in his arms should I forever belong?
The humid air and wind…beaten by his warmth,
Faces secure by the umbrella; yet from rain insecure are both.
Dry and worn out, once was as pale as an iris,
Then changed deep red by his one kiss.
Unconscious to everything, and everyone around,
Silence broken… by fallen raindrops that surround
Ourselves, and a story untold,
Yet with friendship and love, it will unfold.
