Under Starlit Skies

A stolen kiss under starlit skies As I stare into her deep brown eyes My heart beat fluttered and gave a cry As my breath came out a ragged sigh Her hair was soft like satin & silk Her skin as smooth as creamy milk This beauty caused my will to wilt Underneath this nights starry quilt Walking late through deep wet grass So happy this time had come to pass Never seen in ball of crystal glass The joy I felt walking in that grass No I ponder opportunity missed What would be now if I did persist? Would it be different if again we’d kissed? Or would I be alone in the forgotten mist? But I’ll always remember that starry night Those deep brown eyes that set me alight And I’ll always have a melancholy death To read aloud with my very last breath
