Pierre Édouard Frère French Painter - Under My Umbrella

“A prayer of thanks: God, I asked you for a flower and you gave me a bouquet. I asked you for a friend, someone that would stay. You gave me someone like no other. I didn’t expect someone as wonderful as my brother.” By the poet. This is me on my way to school. Oh that’s my brother, he is slow, but not a fool. He is my big brother, but still a little kid. Kids don’t tease him. I would make trouble if they did. He is sweet and kind, though he breaks my toys. He won’t play with any of the other boys. Jeremy stays around me, when he is not learning. Some silly girls are afraid of him, that’s most concerning. My friends all like Jeremy, and he likes them too. I think they all know, not to like him, just would not do. Sometimes at home, he gets all the attention. More love, kisses and cuddles, I guess I shouldn’t mention. Sometimes I think I was born, for Jeremy, for me to look after, When I say this to my parents they answer with laughter. I have had to grow up fast. Jeremy gets bigger, but he stays a little kid. I will be glad when I am seven at last. I wish he grew smarter like I did. I love my brother and we will always be together. I will always be a good sister and look after him forever. Well, here we are at the school gate, I hurry to take him to his class so I don’t get in trouble, for being late.
