Under My Roof
It’s a welcome departure
from the state of brokenness;
with its implication or
commitment to God, the most high.
At times in my own journey,
the struggles involved overwhelm me
make me feel unworthy
unable to see beyond
God’s message to my life.
but again, with sincere heart and acceptance,
that God’s ways aren’t our ways
to judge ourselves and others.
I see the image of God
who is the God of love;
endless in compassion
genuine in comprehension.
He welcomes the sinners
gives them another chance
like the story of Prodigal Son
his mercy bestowed on him
reminds us how merciful he is.
His great love for humankind
reaches far beyond the rationale
which is why he came here on earth
because he wants us to be like him.
His gift of life and love
the embodiment who God is.
I believe he’s always there
for us men and women
we’re part of his great plan
to become recipients
of his saving love.
God of History, God of all
You’re the source of life
though at times I stumble
but with my repentant heart
You come under my roof
to show me that you still love me
with your love and healing presence.
