Under Lock and Key
Under Lock And Key
For the first time I feel,
The loneliness in me,
Everything under lock and key,
Not a soul on the street,
I can’t feel my heart,
It’s locked up in a cell,
Praying that everyone’s well,
It’s just me and my pen,
Writing to tell the world,
Reading the replies,
My words my eyes,
Heart sour as lime,
It feels too lonely in quarantine,
But I now have the time to explore,
Myself in this prison’s bore,
The heart wants another to pour out the worries,
Longing for the forbidden,
Longing for company,
Not a soul who can stay calm,
But the good news acts as a soothing balm,
He shall lead us through,
All, me and you,
This is Mother Nature’s way,
As so many of us say,
To reduce her load,
The angry bustle of the road,
Hazy clouds cover the stars,
Highlighting her glowing marks and scars
Fresh memory of our betrayal,
We now face the scary trial,
Dark is the coveted sky,
Even the birds afraid to fly,
Still pretty fragrances drift,
Attracting a few waylaid swifts,
To the glowing flowers in bloom,
Like a lantern in this gloom,
Said my heart their is still hope,
In the end the world will cope,
Doubtful of its word,
Praying for the world,
I drift off to sleep,
But I know I’m awake down deep,
As I feel it coursing through them,
The immense fear and pain,
He shall protect us though,
Sowing seeds of life with a golden plough.
