Unconscience Man
Special interests dance out of their socks
eyeing what science pulls from Pandora’s box.
Without antidote to prevent or control
eternal disaster loosed from that hole.
They communicate best with terror and lead
and are only content when others are dead.
They judge everyone by their own evil deeds
and fear the justice that their actions breed.
No man of conscience would be so cruel
as to work for them to develop some tool,
whose only purpose is used for fear
and threatens all life on this fragile sphere.
How will the future ever benefit from
any of the research that you have done,
when you give control to madmen and fools
who use it only to conquer and rule?
I wake up with shivers sometimes in the night
hoping I’ll live till the morning light.
My hearts in a quiver and my thoughts all aflame
burning all those who would act in my name.
You don’t have my permission, consent or ok
to go on and threaten my world in this way.
How smart can you be to erect and devise
all the apparatus of global demise.
You study in college to get a degree
to influence the powers of industry.
Then you join corporations hiring men
who are willing to bring this world to an end.
All the best people, and all the best minds,
creating all the threats to all of mankind.
With all of the toxins, germs and the bombs,
and all the devices of eternal harm.
