Uncocooned

UNCOCOONED

In this hive of American life
are lifetime workers engaged
in labors of love and good trouble.

But there are also evil drones
seeking to permanently cocoon
justice, liberty, and equality.

Thus, we must be as butterflies:
Metamorphosed ebony beings destined
to breathe and soar in liberation’s free air.
