Unappreciated
Like the wind I am there but you do not see me
If I were to blow you away in a instance would you still doubt my existence?
Like the water I flow, but yet you pay me no mind
Must I drown you for you to realize I am alive?
Like the ground you step on me but you don't give a care
Must you fall to appreciate I was there?
Like the clouds I am floating but you never look to the sky
Should I make it rain upon your head for your eyes to meet mine?
Like a fire I burn so brightly but you still do not see my light
Must I set your flesh ablaze for me to receive your unrelenting gaze?
Like the snow I fall all around you but you do not give heed
Should I bury you in snow flurries for you to notice me?
Like a tree I give you shade but my shelter you do not seek
Must I be cut down to and made into something new before I mean anything to you?
Like the sun I warm your skin but I can not warm your heart within
Must I melt your very soul for you to know that I love you so?
The answer to my many questions is no for I have waited so long that I have become outdated and hated. Therefore I will never mean anything to you for I am the unappreciated.
