Dear Uganda
When I wrote for the rhymers, I saw you
With talent that had no other
That day was so bright with you filling those seats in theater
I was glad that you saw talent in you
Knowing how much you could do better
For you the pearl of Africa
I write
Not a song but a poem
For each time I find a poetry group
I look for you
To give me courage
To give me hope
Hope that you have always built in me
Like a dream that comes true with love
For the sight of you, Uganda
Gives me hope to write
To believe
That in you
In me
In poets
We are made
Yet we create
