Two Years
Two years my love
And the well worn depression
Where your lifeless form
Last rested still remains
I cover it as if it were you
Speak aloud to shadows
That brush by me in the night
Reach to hold them
But as you have done
They vanish into nothingness
Eerily teasing my soul
For what once was
And shall never be again
I often raise my glass to you
Words hushed but tears fall easily
No one but you could
Secure this lock on my heart
A failed attempt at a lovers' charade
